Alright stop, pajama timeEminem - Just Lose It
Hi everyone ! Missed me ? It's been a while I left this journal empty, despite the fact I warned everyone I was on a megahiatus and spent mostly my time on the social platform of drama : Tumblr. But fortunately for you, I'm back with an ulgy icon (because of GIMP's single alpha channel bullshit), and I'm glad to write a status right now...
-Where have you been during all this time ?
Hmmm... Mostly at home, like usual. I didn't have any time to give for artistic stuff, because I had my final terms last year and I finished my first year in uni two months ago. Conclusion : I've been really, really busy IRL, and I only draw one or two major things during Chistmas break that I'm going to post because why not, even though it's incredibly shitty compared to the latest deviations I've posted. I've also taken karate lessons, and oh boy, it's not that obvious at first sight, but it sure does help for the body and the soul. Really. I wasn't too far from my computer. Just not on the right website (I wandered mostly on Tumblr or MSPA Forums).
Also, we really had a shitty spring in Paris, to not say no spring at all. I kept the lame haircut from two years ago, then let my hair grow enough so I could tie them into a ponytail, then cut them again and make the bangs disappear, then cut them even shorter to have Rose Lalonde's haircut, because summer jobs at McDonadls are awful enough to let your hair cut short so you won't have trouble filling those goddamned nets with your hair.
Surprisingly enough, it looks cool. Notice how I'm still fan of stripes.
Anyway, last year, I signed up for the exact sciences dept., in the geology, which is a cursus combining physics, chemistry and maths. I estimate myself really lucky maths saved my ass for both semesters, because I just hate organization in my uni.
I also picked an interest in Steam again. I'm going to share my ID in the profile, because this section needs a serious editing, too. Oh, and I might turn myself to software making/video games making for giggles and fun.
-Okay, what about your interests ? Are they all the same ?
Unfortunately no. As I said, stuff happens in two years. As a result, Hetalia is no longer my main fandom. Let me explain : since every series I followed was really active, Hetalia was left like an abandoned child. Himaruya hardly ever updates his site (last time he did, it was the 5th, and the last submission before that was the last year), and he gets a lot of pressure from his editors, apparently... Oh wait, nevermind. I just checked Kitayume RIGHT NOW and he seems involved again. Let's see how things are going. By the way. His new series are
here, and apparently from the raw, it's a girl who's time-travelling to what seems to be the Edo era and meets a guy called Taishouoni. Looks cute, sounds like an Inuyasha scenario. I'm simply "meh" about this, but whatever.
I caught on Homestuck since February 2012 and right now I'm still following updates on MSPA. Many people are saying Act 6 is shitty, and while it's quite repetitive, I still enjoy reading it. My Tumblr posts can certifiate I'm really active on Homestuck. I read the full Shingeki no Kyojin, which is basically Claymore with crappy mannequins, so I regained an interest in the latter and became fond of the former after a night of intensive reading. I enjoyed Dangan Ronpa and PMMM. Occasionally, my science inner nerd bursts at the surface of my fandom layers to talk about future, science-fiction, and all that stuff. Terraformation and remote space travel are interesting. I guess what motivates me in life is to one day find new habitable territories, or even aliens. I want to feel like the Christopher Colombus of space.
Concerning Touhou, I'm still fond of it, strangely. The stories are simplistic as hell when you read books like SoPM, the games do nothing to develop... I guess it's like Stockholm Syndrome. Plus it's a huge fandom who has a huge playground to begin with, which means little canon, many fanon, as terrible as it is.
-What do you think of dA's new system ?
Yeah, it's kind of cool, actually. No way I'm going to buy a premium account like that unless I earn points/money. That's why I should probably start requests first, then commissions. Lots of commissions. It is my duty to cope for a full month without job and a shitty salary at McDonalds.
-Nice. How's your style going ?
It's evolving, actually. Compare all what I've done on this account. Check one particular section in my favourites, the check the old fanarts, then check the new batch. I still have to improve the lineart, because I honestly feel my lineart is crappy compared to other pieces of art. It's almost like some of them didn't use any line at all, or just used the brush line, a technique I recently found and now using it for all my WIPs.
It's amazing how pixel art takes longer than it seems. People usually think it's pixels being slapped and bam, you have stuff. Except I spent around seven to nine hours drawing my new ID with the binary and the binary only. I had to draw the line in black, then make a new layer and put the full colors (easy if I hadn't accidentally did it on an existing sketch layer), then put lights and shadows by scrolling the hue wheel to know exactly what color using, then do a contrast effect. You can do it with GraphicsGale as well. It's cool for pixel art. I did a monster with it. It's "okay but not good".
Last, I started 3D modeing this summer by following the tutorials of someone called
LittleWebHut. While his modelings are not that realistic compared to
BlenderGuru (Andrew Price), they are a good start for anyone new to Blender, even if BlenderGuru practised it for 9 years and knows obviously much more techniques. I'm currently doing his bread tutorial, and it's amazing to see how 3D softwares like Blender do what excellent artists do on Tegaki E in less than one hour. The more toolless you go, the longer you take.
-Can you sum everything up for us please ?
Okay. So I can do 3D modeling, pixel art, talksprites, digital art, photography... My main fandoms are now Homestuck, Claymore, Touhou, Shingeki no Kyojin, Dangan Ronpa, and everything that catches my eye on Tumblr. Yes, I still like Hetalia. dA's community is no worse than the ones on LJ/Dreamwidth or Tumblr. Yes I changed a lot during these two years. Yes, I've matured a bit. Yes I'm still crazy and I still love you all.

Have a good day. :3
